White Christmas Cocktail Recipe

An incredibly delicious and festive drink for Christmas day, the White Christmas cocktail is the perfect concoction for guests who come into from the chilly weather outside, and crave a rich, sweet beverage to sip on. The heavy cream and the white crème de cacao add an indulgent element of richness to the drink, while the vodka gives it a kick, and the peppermint schnapps lends it a quintessential Christmas flavour. The beverage is made even more interesting with the addition of ice cubes – a rich, heavy, and creamy drink that has been chilled to perfection is a great way to greet guests at any Christmas party, and is bound to earn you plenty of praise and admiration.

Prep time: 5-8 minutes
Yield: 1 to 2 servings

Ingredients:
– 1 fluid ounce heavy cream
– 1 fluid ounce vodka
– 1 fluid ounce peppermint schnapps
– 1 fluid ounce white crème de cacao
– 1 cup ice cubes
– 1 small candy cane/ coconut flakes/ chocolate flakes (for garnish)

Instructions

  • 1

To begin, pour the heavy cream into the blender. Since the drink is meant to be reminiscent of thick, white snow (thus the name White Christmas cocktail), and is supposed to be rich and indulgent, do not use skimmed or low-fat cream for this purpose – use the thickest, richest cream you can find. Even the strictest dieters are prone to considering Christmas the season for eating, drinking, and merry-making, so do not settle for anything that is low in fat content.

  • 2

Once all the cream has been added in, pour in the vodka (to give the drink an alcoholic kick), peppermint schnapps (to make it a special Christmas drink), and white crème de cacao. At this point, you can also add in some ice cubes – this will chill the drink immediately, and give it a slightly watery consistency – or you can choose to add in the ice later on

  • 3

Cover and blend until the mixture is smooth and creamy, and all the ingredients have been thoroughly combined. If you chose to add in the ice cubes too, continue pulsing until the outside of the blender is chilled and frosted.

  • 4

If you pulsed the ice cubes up with the ingredients, you can pour the drink directly into chilled cocktail glasses (preferably martini glasses) – if you didn’t, pour the drink into a cocktail shaker with ice cubes, and shake until it is chilled. Finally, decorate the glasses with Christmas garnishes – hang a mini candy cane from the rim, and sprinkle coconut and chocolate flakes over the top of each drink.
