How to do the Magic Riffle Card Trick
The Magic Riffle card trick is one of those interesting Impromptu series that prove to be quite entertaining when played. As you start practicing this trick, it may seem a bit weird or difficult but the more you practice, the better grip you are likely to develop. The player of this trick does shuffling of the deck and then riffles through it. At the same time, an observer or spectator says STOP as the end of the cards is reached. Right at that point, the player separates the deck and without looking, shows the card to the spectator and then guesses it afterwards.
Instructions
-
1
Shuffle the cards in the way you like and ask an observer to choose a card. Suppose that the observer has chosen a Queen of Hearts and you do not have a clue about it
-
2
Put the selected card on top of a table and ask the spectator to stop you as you riffle the deck from the top.
-
3
Place the selected card on the table when you stop, and then shuffle the deck a few more times.
-
4
Now lay all cards on the table and spread them in an arc with faces of all the cards facing downwards.
-
5
After placing the cards on the table, pick one card out of them. It does not matter if you and the audience know about the chosen card, so let us suppose that it is 8 of diamonds.
-
6
Place the second selected card in the deck with its face upwards. Again shuffle and stop when you see the 8 of diamonds, removing all the cards from the deck above this one.
-
7
Repeat the same procedure, thus removing all the cards above 8 until you are left with one single card other then the 8 of diamonds. On turning it, you will be surprised to know that it is the Queen of Hearts.
