How to Make Chicken Shashlik
Shashlik, the famous Russian cuisine is a form of sheesh kebab. It has number of varieties; it can be of made of only meat, only fat, a mixture of meat and fat or a mixture of meat, fat and different types of vegetables. Basically, Shashlik refers to beef only, but it varies from origin to origin and people do use pork, chicken and all sorts of meats depending on taste and religious grounds. Ingredients:
sweet onions: 2
salt: 1 teaspoon
tomatoes: 2
shashlik sticks: 4
tomato ketchup: 1/2 cup
tamarind juice: 1/2 cup
all spice powder: 1 teaspoon
oil: 4 tablespoons
garlic powder: 1 teaspoon
mustard paste: 1 tablespoon
Chopped capsicums: 2
ginger garlic paste: 2 teaspoons
green chili paste: 1/2 teaspoon
black pepper powder: 1/2 teaspoon
vinegar: 2 teaspoons
water: 2 teaspoons
boneless chicken: 1/2 Kg
red chili powder: 1 teaspoon

To prepare mixture to marinade, take a bowl and mix ginger and garlic paste along with, vinegar, red chilli powder, mustard paste, black pepper powder, all spice powder, salt, chopped capsicums, chopped sweet onions and tomatoes. Mix them well to prepare a fine marinating paste.

Marinate the boneless chicken using mixture prepared in step 1. Leave it for some time to rest.

Take the shashlik sticks and sew the marinated boneless chicken into the sticks.

Now take sizzling platter and heat it well, place the shashlik sticks on it and start cooking them till they get brownish texture.

Take a separate bowl to prepare sauce. Add tomato ketchup in it along with tamarind juice, garlic powder, green chillies, half teaspoon of salt and water. Mix them well to prepare fine sauce.

Pour the sauce created in step 4 on shashlik sticks and serve hot.
