King’s College London
In 1828, a group of churchmen and politicians decided to form a college in London and this led to the foundation of King’s college London. The purpose of this college was to produce an alternative of Church of England, which later became the University College London. King George the fourth awarded the college with Royal charter in 1829 and in 1836, University of London was founded, while UCL and Kings College were the first affiliate colleges of the University. Kings College has produced many famous personalities including Peter Higgs, Lord Lister, Sir James Black, Desmond Tutu, and many more. The institute is also renowned for producing 10 Nobel Prize winners; these people include Charles Barkla, Sir Owen Richardson, Sir Frederick Gowland Hopkins, Sir Charles Scott Sherrington, Sir Edward Appleton to name a few. Credit Transfers

How to Get to Kings College London
By Tube
If you wish to get to the Kings College London's main campus, then the nearest tube station is Temple. On leaving the station, head west on Temple Pi towards Surrey Street and then after 240 feet, turn right onto Strand lane. After about 290 feet, the college will be on your right . View Map
By Bus
You can also take several buses to get to Aldwych Somerset House bus stop, which is located very close to the university. This stop serves bus numbers 6, 9, 11, 13, 15, 23, 87 and 91.
