About London Metropolitan University

London Metropolitan University, as known today, was established in 2002 with a merger of London Guildhall University and University of North London. The city campus is 160 years old and was established back in 1848, when the Bishop of London started Metropolitan Evening classes for industrial men. This later transformed into City of London College and later on to City of London Polytechnic. Finally in 1992, the institution was upgraded to London Guildhall University. The institute offers not only a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, but also a lot of short and pre-degree courses. The subject list is quite extensive and includes subjects ranging from Art, Technology, Accounting and Pharmacy. The University enrolls more than 28,000 students including approximately 7,000 foreign students from 155 different countries. London Metropolitan’s  main emphasis is on providing quality education with affordability, and this is why the fees are lower than many other institutions of the same rank. Moreover, the university was awarded the highest rank in a review by Quality Assurance Agency in 2011.
