The Omega Dubai Desert Classic
The Omega Dubai Desert Classic is held each year at Emirates Golf Club’s Majlis Course and attracts professional golf players from around the world. Testament to this are appearances by Tiger Woods, who has taken part in the tournament 6 times in the past 10 years, winning two events.
The tournament doesn’t just attract renowned players; it also manages to bag big sponsors. These include CNN and Emirates Airline among others. The Majlis Course is considered as one of the top golf courses in the world and the event’s popularity is evidenced by the Bleacher Report’s rating of The Omega Dubai Desert Classic among the world’s top ten biggest tournaments.

History
The European Tour visited Asia the first time in 1989, and that's when this tournament was initially started. It has covered a long journey since then and has now become a $2.5 million event which attracts international golf stars.
The youngest player who has participated in the tournament was Rory Mcllroy (19) and the oldest was Mathew Turner, 42 years old. -

- The tournament pulls golf players like Tiger Woods, Raphael Jacquelin, Alvaro Quiros and Martin Kaymer.
- Chalets can be booked which overlook the sprawling green golf course.
- Food and beverages are provided in the chalets throughout the day. -

How to Get To Omega Dubai Desert Classic
By Bus:
The nearest bus stop to the Emirates Golf Club is Marina Metro Station and bus number F37 stops here. It is a drive of 2 minutes and at a distance of 1.7 kms, so after getting off at the station, just head northeast and take a ramp onto Sheikh Zayed Road and you’ll spot your destination. View Map.

Nakheel Metro Station 2 is at a distance of 400 m and a walk of 500 meters. Just walk northeast after getting dropped at this metro station and you’ll see the golf course on your left. View Map
