10 Reasons Why You Should Take Online Classes

Online courses can be a great option for all kinds of people. I have taken around thirty online classes and consider myself to be some what of an expert on the subject. I have 10 reasons why you should consider taking online classes:

Online classes allow for flexibility. You won’t be required to attend your course at a certain time, unless your class meets each week in a chat room, which is rare. This allows you to work on your assignments when you have time, even if that means doing your assignments at 3am.

You will save gas money when taking online classes. In this day and time, that’s a really big deal. My campus is 20 miles from my home and if I had to drive there 2-5 days a week, it would begin to add up. Depending on what college/university you attend, you may be required to drive to your campus a few times during the semester to take mid-terms, finals, and some other tests. Not all instructors, of online classes, require you to drive to the campus to take exams, but some do.

You will be able to find a decent job when taking online classes, because you will be available all day. When you attend school on campus, you are usually forced to take jobs that aren’t very desirable because you need a job that offers flexible hours.

You save time when taking online classes. Often when you are on campus you waste time in between course and also there is time wasted driving back and forth. This time could be spent doing assignments or studying for an upcoming exam.

When you take classes online, you’ll find that it doesn’t take as long. When you take a course on campus, you spend hours taking notes, and sometimes just sitting there while the instructor is getting everything ready. Online classes have the notes available on the website. So instead of sitting in classes 2-3 hours a week, you’ll be able to go online, read over the notes, read the assigned pages in the textbook, and do the assignment.

Taking online classes allows you to take several courses at once. When taking classes on campus you will sometimes be forced to choose between courses because several of the courses you want to take are scheduled all at the same time. I am currently taken 6 courses online, if I was to do this on campus, I would have to drive to the campus 5 days a week.

Taking online classes will save you money. You won’t need to buy notebooks, pens, pencils, etc because you’ll be able to type everything up on the computer.

Online classes offer more interaction with your fellow classmates than classes you take on campus. I know this may sound weird, but it’s true. At the beginning of the semester you are asked to introduce yourself to your fellow classmates and then throughout the semester you will discuss several topics with your classmates. You don’t usually spend this much time talking with your fellow classmates when you’re on campus.

If you have children, online classes allow you to still be a mother while working towards a degree. I often see mothers quitting college because they are pregnant or not going to college because they are pregnant. It doesn’t have to be that way. Online classes will allow you the flexibility you need to take care of your children, clean the house, work, and still get a great education.

If you don’t’ live anywhere near a college or university, online classes will allow you to still attend college without having to move. Sometimes you may want to attend a college or university that is on the other side of the state or in a different state all together. More and more colleges and universities are making online classes available. You will often be able to obtain a Master’s degrees online from accredited colleges and universities. After I finish up my degree I will transferring to a university that is in

Eastern North Carolina
, all without having to leave my small town in

Western North Carolina
.
