2014 Dodge Dart Srt4 Review

Undoubtedly, Dart has been released to great acclaim, Ralph Gilles along with his SRT team has already hinted at such a car, which will be quite different from its previous model.

This is because Dart borrows heavily from Alfa Romeo DNA Giulietta platform, which is not only light and quick, but it is also well-matched with the sporty six-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The Cloverleaf’s 1.7-liter with a four cylinder turbo engine is not expected to come in this model, because it has just 230 hp in it. The Dart SRT4 need to be more agile, since by summer, Ford is coming with its new generation Focus ST with a 2.0 liter, having four cylinder turbo engine with minimum 247 hp and 250 lb-ft of torque.

While comparing the last generation Caliber SRT4, it came with 285 hp and 265 lb-ft from a turbo 2.4 liter, so SRT should be aimed higher. The all-aluminum, direct-injection, 300-hp four-cylinder engine, which is expected to come in Alfa Romeo 4C could be the best, though costly.

The chassis and aerodynamics sides will be more likely to Chrysler/Dodge line. The Dart SRT4 will be equipped with all type of functional scoops and vents, a high tech rear deck spoiler along with shifter springs and dampers. It will come with larger wheels and more enhanced rubber. However, it will come with a price tag of approximately $30,000.

“I’m pretty impressed. It looks like it has quite a bit of content. From a large — over 8-inch — display in the center console and additional displays in the gauge cluster. I’m always looking first and foremost for proportion. This car has a nice compact quality to it with wheels pushed to the corners. It has a really nice stance. They’ve done a pretty nice job with this car.” – Derek Jenkins, Mazda’s chief of design, when asked what he thought about the new Dodge Dart.
