6 Year Old Falls into a Borewell on His Birthday

Prince, a 6 year old village boy in India, was miraculously rescued by the Indian Army, when he fell into a borewell 60 feet deep on July 21, 2006. An eye witness says “I saw him playing around and then suddenly, I heard cries of someone calling out for help. I could not see him anymore and then realised it was him who was calling for help…and the sound was coming from the pit just beside the well which was 10 feel away” Soon help began pouring in and the army was deployed to begin rescue operations. It seemed a very hard task as the pit was only 1 foot wide. The only way of saving Prince was to cut a tunnel through the bottom of the well, and bring him to safety….and this they did with great precision, eventually bringing him to the surface after 50 hours and rushing him to the hospital for immediate medical attention. For the 50 hours he spent trapped in the well, he was kept nourished by sending down chocolates, sweets and water. CCTV also monitored his condition from time to time.
