8 Ways to Donate Used Appliances
If you will soon be updating your kitchen, you may be wondering what to do with your old appliances. Instead of tossing them into a landfill, or allowing them to sit unused in a garage, why not donate them instead? There are many organizations that would be thrilled to have your used appliances, and it’s a simple way to help someone less fortunate. Plus, it may just qualify as a tax deduction for you!
The only difficult thing about donating appliances is deciding which charity or organization to give it to. There are so many good people who need a little help, and they would all be thrilled to have the things you can no longer use. Don’t know how to donate old appliances? Try contacting any of the following:

Homeless shelter – Another great way to donate used appliances is through a local homeless shelter. Visit the Homeless Shelter Directory to find out where one is located near you.
Excess Access – If you’re always on the go and simply don’t have the time to spend searching through each organization, Excess Access offers a simple solution. Head over to their website and begin listing the appliances you want to donate. Then, Excess Access will cross-check the information with wish lists from organizations and charities. From there, they will instruct you how to make contact to schedule a donation. Pretty easy, huh?
Please remember that in order to donate used appliances, they must be in good working order. Non operational units, units with visible rust or other damage, or unsafe appliances will not be accepted.
