Two Week Notice Email

Most companies require employees to intimate to them at least two weeks in advance when they are leaving the job. This is important because they need to find a suitable replacement or at least have enough time to delegate the work of the person leaving to other employees.

Email is a good way to serve your two weeks notice. It is a formal medium and also one that is widely accepted for such communication as well.

Start off with the information that you are serving your two weeks notice and mention which date will be your last official day at work.

In the second paragraph, ask if there is any kind of help that you can provide the organisation in this regard. Do reaffirm your commitment to your work until the last day of employment with the company.

End the email with some nice words for the company or the time that you spent with the organisation and coworkers.

    Dear John,

    I am emailing to let you know that I am resigning from my current position of Administrative Assistant due to personal reasons and I am serving my two weeks notice effective from today. May 20, 2013 shall be my last working day with ABC Enterprises.

    If the organisation needs any help from me in this regard, I will be more than happy to help. I am committed to the organisation until the day that I leave and I shall perform all my duties with utmost conviction while I am still an employee.

    I have work with ABC Enterprises for three years now and have had a great time both with the company itself and the staff which is extremely helpful. I hope all the best for both.
