Nature has its own ways of causing destruction on the face of earth. Tsunamis, earthquakes, floods and volcanic eruptions are some of those ways. Volcanic mountains are found in different parts of the world and have demonstrated nature’s extreme power countless times in the history of this world. Melted rocks (generally known as lava) erupt from a mountain as a result of a volcanic eruption. The temperature of lava can be as high as a couple of thousand degrees centigrade. Keeping this fact in mind, it is easy to understand how deadly a volcanic eruption can prove.

    Laki is huge volcano located in Iceland. Last time, it erupted in 1783 and caused the death of about 50 percent of livestock population in the country at that time. The famine that followed after the eruption of Laki caused the about 25% human population.

    Located in Papua New Guinea, Mount Lamington is 1,680 meter-high volcano. It grumbled most recently in 1951 and became the cause of about 3000 deaths. The series of eruptions affected areas within 10 miles of the volcano.
