Difference between Aesthetician and Esthetician

Beauty has always been one of the most important topics of discussion amongst people. It does not matter where a person belongs to as beauty is always on his or her mind. This obviously has made the field of making people beautiful very lucrative and many take it up as a well paying profession.

To terms that we hear when it comes to this field are Aesthetician and Esthetician. Both are pretty similar in appearance and are often thought to be synonyms. This is true to some extent as there are some similarities. However, there are certain differences amongst the two as well.

The primary difference is the area of work. Aestheticians are more prone towards the clinical part of the work and can be found in hospitals and clinics or in specialised areas such as trauma centres, burn centres and reconstructive surgery units. On the other hand, Estheticians are found more in spas and beauty salons where they cater to the general clientele.

Aestheticians are generally known as the clinical or paramedical aestheticians due to the nature of their work while estheticians are known as traditional skin care specialists.

There is a lot more stress for aestheticians as they have to learn about the clinical side of work whereas estheticians are more prone to learning about spa and beauty salon related issues.
