Difference Between Seasonique and Loseasonique

Seasonique and Loseasonique are two types of contraceptives pills. There are many different kinds of birth control pills available in the market that use different techniques to be effective. Although the purpose of both of these medicines is the same, their suitability entirely depends upon your physical health. Seasonique basically extends a woman’s menstrual cycle to at least three months and Loseasonique alters the lining of a woman’s uterus to prevent pregnancy. Seasonique and Loseasonique also have some side effects like bleeding or spotting between periods.

Seasonique is a contraceptive pill sold under the brand name of Ethinyl Estradiol and Levonorgestrel. This pill extends a woman’s menstrual cycle and stops the release of an egg from the ovary. Seasonique makes the inside lining of the uterus hard, putting pressure on the sperm making it difficult to conceive. As soon a woman keeps taking a pill everyday, she will not get pregnant. There are many conditions like if you just had a baby recently or are currently breastfeeding, then taking Seasonique is not recommended as it can cause some serious side effects for both mother and child.

Loseasonique has progesterone and estrogen hormones in it that prevents women from getting pregnant. This chemical formula is also found in Seasonique but in Loseasonique, the level of progesterone and estrogen hormones is lower. This chemical formula thickens a woman’s cervix and prevents ovulation.
