How to Have a Secret Relationship With Someone

If you are in a relationship with someone that your parents do not approve of, then you are left with no option but to keep your relationship with that person a secret, until you detect a change in your parents’ mood. There are a lot of ways to ensure that your parents do not get a whiff of what you are up to behind their backs. However, you need to be on your toes at all times and not do or say anything that might give you away, as that might mean the end of your relationship with your significant other.

One of the first things that you need to do to ensure that your secret relationship remains a secret, is to come up with a code name for your significant other. This will allow you to talk about them with the people who are in on your secret, without raising any suspicion. Make sure that you do not come up with a very unique or noticeable code name for your boyfriend/girlfriend, as that is bound to get you pushed against the wall sooner or later, leaving you with no choice but to reveal your secret.

Never talk to your secret lover on the phone when you have company. Either reject the call, or excuse yourself and leave the room to take your significant other’s call in private. Do not stay on the phone for too long, as that might raise suspicions. Before you return to the room, make sure you have a solid excuse and explanation for leaving the room to take the call.

Try not to text your significant other when your parents are around. If your parents catch you instant messaging someone, just say that you are talking to a friend. Use the name of a friend that your parents already know, as throwing a new name at them would make them curious and may lead to a series of questions. It is only natural for parents to want to know who their children are friends with.

Make sure you have your significant other on the same page as you, as far as the matter of keeping your relationship a secret is concerned. This will allow them to exercise caution on their part by not calling you too much, not getting offended if you do not take their calls, not making your parents suspicious by making your cell-phone beep too much due to a flurry of texts, etc.
