Instructions

  • 1

First, you need to make sure that your computer is connected to the internet, as you will have to download the music files from the internet, using podcasts.

  • 2

Open iTunes and double click the iTunes Store icon present at the left side of the iTunes window. When the iTunes Store screen comes up, you will see a box in the upper-middle left hand side that says: Music, Movies, TV Shows, etc. (in descending order). Double click on Podcasts.

  • 3

On the left side you will see categories and featured providers; on the right side, you will see top podcasts. When you find one you like, double click on it. This article will continue with the “Stuff You Should Know” option. Click on it and you will see "Stuff You Should Know" written on top of your screen. You will now see a list of free Podcasts available at the main window.

  • 4

Click to highlight the episode that you want and then click the "Get Episode" button, located right next to the free button.

  • 5

Return to your normal iTunes screen. Now click the Podcasts option, present at the left side of the screen, under your library. You should see your chosen podcast and episode now.

  • 6

At this point, your iPod needs to be plugged in, so make sure it is. Again, on the left side, under devices, you should see something that says your name and your product: ie. Eisenberg's Nano. Double click on it.

  • 7

You will now see the following across the top of the screen: Summary, Music, Movies, TV Shows, Podcasts, Contacts and Games. Double click on the Podcast tab.

  • 8

At the top you will see a box that gives you a synchronising option (you can sync the most recent podcast, you can sync the three most recent podcasts, or you can sync none of them, should you so choose). Pick the option you want.

  • 9

You will now see a list of the podcasts you have added to iTunes; there will be boxes to the left of the list. Select whichever program you would like added to your iPod.

  • 10

In the bottom right hand corner, you will see the word Sync. Press it. Your iPod should light up on the base, and in iTunes it should say it is syncing. This happens quickly and it will let you know when it is finished.
