How to Wear Liquid Eyeliner

Liquid eyeliner is an essential part of facial makeup and plays an important part in completing any outfit. Since poorly applied eyeliner can spoil your look, it is important to wear liquid eyeliner in the correct manner, which can take a fair amount of practice as far as beginners are concerned. Fortunately, once you have mastered the art, wearing liquid eyeliner will become as easy as a routine chore.

Things Required:

– Primer or cream eyeshadow
– Translucent powder
– Eyeshadow
– Liquid eyeliner
– Cotton swabs
– Eye makeup remover

Instructions

  • 1

Start by priming your eyelids. Make use of a primer or cream eyeshadow for this purpose. Your aim is to form a base to which liquid eyeliner can stick. Cover the primer base with a thin layer of translucent powder. If you plan to wear eyeshadow, apply it now.

  • 2

Place the elbow of your dominant arm on a flat surface in order to steady your hand. Change the angle of your neck just a little bit and make your eyelid taut.

  • 3

Place small dots of liquid eyeliner on your eyelashes. Be sure to keep the eyeliner dots as close as possible to your eyelashes.

  • 4

Join the dashes and spots you drew in the previous step with a continuous line of eyeliner. Start with a thin line at the inner corner of the eye and gradually make the line thicker as you near the outer corner of the eye.

  • 5

Dip a cotton swab in eye makeup remover. Get rid of any excess eye makeup remover by gently pressing the cotton swab and carefully dab it around any spots that look out of place. Allow time for the eye makeup remover to dry and then blend the eyeshadow that you applied earlier back into its proper place.

  • 6

Finally, apply mascara on your eyelashes to complete the look.

  • 7

Another method for applying liquid eyeliner is to first prepare your eyelids by carefully applying eyeliner and then blotting them with a moistened cotton swab. Then, apply the eyeshadow of your choice. As before, make sure you apply mascara at the very end, after applying the eyeliner and eyeshadow.
