While at a party, you probably do not think twice before consuming alcohol. After all, it has become somewhat of an essential to have a drink or two to loosen up and give a massive boost to one’s confidence while being surrounded by a lot of apparently cool people.

Things, however, can get a bit out of hand once you end up drinking too much and find yourself waking up with a hangover the next day. The dizziness and nausea is a real nuisance to deal with, making you wish that you had exercised restraint during the party.

Instead of staying away from alcohol completely at a party, you can avoid waking up with a hangover through just a few simple precautions.

If a person consumes alcohol that is beyond what they can handle, the body reacts to toxins in alcohol by going in a state of hangover.

    Pay close attention to how your body reacts to different levels of alcohol. Once you discover your limit, ensure that you do not go beyond it, irrespective of how strong the temptation is.

    Intoxication on its own is extremely dangerous for one’s body and hangover simply adds to the troubles.

    Getting something to eat before consuming alcohol is known to be an effective way of preventing hangover. It is believed that the acetaldehyde in the stomach plays a role in the absorption of alcohol and consequently causing hangover.

    By eating food before going out for a drink, you will reduce the amount of alcohol absorbed.

    When trying to avoid a hangover, you should avoid consuming different kinds of alcohol. The chances of formation of hangover cocktail can increase significantly if you mix up the different types of alcohol, consisting of different flavourings, additives, etc. Try not to drink vodka, gin, beer or champagne on the same night.
