No matter how careful you are, there are times when we are stressed, hurried, anxious or distracted and we lock our cars with the keys inside. This not only intensifies the situation but in times of emergency, one becomes really impatient to get in the car. However, leaving your keys inside the car does not mean that you will have to break the window, or to call a locksmith, but there are much easier ways like using your cell phone to help you unlock your car.

Recall the person who has the spare remote for your car
The most important thing is to identify the person, who has the spare remote for your car. If you are unsure about a number of people, then you must call or text each of them to figure out who has the spare remote. After you have figured out the person, make sure that your phone battery is fully charged and will not die in the process as your cell phone is very important for the task at hand. -

Call that person
Now you must request the person to hold the remote in his or her hand. For this, you should call that person from your cell phone otherwise you will not be able to unlock your car. Do not use pay phone or other means of contacting the person but call them directly through your cell phone. You must now call the person and ask him to press the ‘unlock’ button of remote. Make sure that the person is holding the remote close to their cell phone whereas you must stay one foot away from the car. -

Check the doors
After you are certain that the other person has pressed the unlock button, it is suggested that you should check all doors of your car to see if any of these are unlocked. If none of the doors are unlocked, you must try the procedure again. It is necessary that you should not stand farther than 1 foot and the other person is holding the remote right next to their phone. If your still not lucky, you must ask the person to bring the remote to your location so you could do it manually.
