Oysters when baked make a delicious meal. Taste of baked oysters largely depends on the area where the oysters were harvested. Some people prefer to eat oysters raw but most enjoy baking them. Fortunately, you can easily bake oysters at home in very little time.
Ingredients
  • In-shell oysters - 24
  • Melted butter - 1 cup
  • Cooked spinach (drained) - 2 cups
  • Worcestershire sauce - 6 tbsp.
  • Grated Gruyere cheese - 1 cup
Instructions
  1. You will need to broil the oysters in an oven in order to bake them.
  2. Preheat an oven at 450 degrees Fahrenheit so that once you are done preparing the oysters, you would not have to wait for the oven to heat.
  3. Carefully separate the oysters from their shells.
  4. You will have to clean any residual oyster from the oyster shells.
  5. To clean the shells, you will need to scrub them one at a time until the entire oyster residue has been properly removed.
  6. Apply melted butter onto the tip of a marinating brush and use it to coat the oysters from the inside, attending to one shell at a time.
  7. Cover all the shells from the inside with a thin coat of cooked spinach.
  8. Make sure that the spinach you use is properly drained of water.
  9. It should take about 2 cups of spinach to cover all 24 oyster shells from the inside.
  10. Add 6 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce in a plastic bowl.
  11. Individually dip all the oysters in the sauce to ensure that they are completely covered with Worcestershire sauce. Use more sauce if required.
  12. Carefully place oysters onto their shells, using one shell for 2 marinated oysters.
  13. Lightly sprinkle the oysters with leftover melted butter from before and 1 cup grated Gruyere cheese.
  14. Place all the shells onto a cookie sheet and broil them in the preheated oven.
  15. Bake until the edges of the oysters start to curl upwards.
  16. This should take about 20 minutes of bake time.
  17. Serve the oysters while they are still hot.
