How to Cook Potato Skins

You must have tried numerous snack recipes, but making them over and over again can be slightly boring. Therefore, it is ideal to experiment a bit with some new recipe, which tastes good and has got nutritional benefits too.

Potatoes are used in different recipes, but people don’t use their skin too often. Rather than wasting that skin, you should opt for making something delicious out of it. There are several ways of cooking the potato skins, but you should opt for the simplest one, especially if you are in a hurry.

Ingredients:
Baking potatoes: 2 lbs.
Shredded cheddar cheese: 2 cups
Green onions: 1 bunch
Bacon bits: 4 tbsp.
Sour cream: 1 cup

    Preheat the oven

    Whenever you wish to bake something, it is ideal to preheat the oven at a certain temperature. The normal range for that is 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

    Slice potatoes in half

    After washing the skin of the potatoes properly, cut them into half. Make sure you slice them lengthwise, as that will make things easier for you afterwards.

    Pierce the potatoes

    Once you can see the inner side of the potatoes, perforate it with the help of a fork. You have to do this quite a few times, so that the potatoes get cooked easily.

    Microwave the potatoes

    After creating numerous holes in the potatoes, microwave them for a few minutes on high temperature. Place all of the potatoes in a plate and continue checking them after every three minutes whether they have become tender. In order to check the potatoes, you can poke them with a fork.

    Ensure that the potatoes are wrapped in a wet paper towel before being placed in the microwave.

    Remove potatoes from microwave

    The potatoes will become tender after a few minutes and you need to remove them from the microwave when that happens. Moreover, take the paper towels off and allow them to cool.

    Separate the inside of potatoes

    Separate the inside of potatoes from the skin, but make sure not to tear the skin.

    Make potato mixture

    Add all the ingredients in a bowl and mix them with the skinless potatoes. You can also add your favourite seasonings at this point.

    Scoop mixture inside potato skin

    Scoop all of the mixture inside the potato skin and bake for 20 minutes along with the separated skin. They will be nice and crispy after being baked properly. Allow them to cool down before eating.
