How to Add a Mirror to a Dresser
People often make it a habit to look at themselves in a mirror as soon as they get up.
What else could prove more helpful than a mirror attached to the dresser in your bedroom if you are one of those people?
If a mirror is not already attached to the dresser in your room, you can accomplish this task at home.

Depending on the current decor of your room and the shape of the dresser to which you intend to add the mirror, decide which type of mirror you would like to use. For instance, you will need a brushed stainless-steel mirror if your room looks generally rustic.

Using a tape measure, take precise measurements such as the width of the dresser to determine how wide the mirror would need to be as well the available horizontal space to determine an appropriate length for the mirror.

To get a feel of how your intended design would actually look, consider drawing a few blueprints. Set them aside for a few days and then give the blueprints another look. Make changes if required. If you are comfortable with the plans, you can go ahead and give them a practical shape.

Purchase wood that complements that wood originally used to make the dresser. This will make it easier for you to stain the wood being added so that a nearly perfect match can be achieved. Cut the wood into pieces as required with a saw. Invest in an appropriate sized mirror or have one cut at a home improvement store.

To make sure that everything would fit in proper order, it would be wise to put together all the wooden pieces without screws or glue and make changes if required. When you are sure that everything fits together, you can screw up the wooden pieces.

Sand all the pieces you have added to the dresser with sandpaper until the entire surface is smooth. To make sure that the additions you made do not look out of place, paint or stain using appropriate paint brushes. Finally attach the mirror in place according to the blueprints you drew earlier.

At the mirror’s rear portion, screw metal joists along the wooden pieces you had attached to the dresser previously. Establish a connection between the metal joists and the dresser with the help of screws. This will provide more stability to the mirror you just added.
