How to Clean a Dirty Toilet
If, for any reason, you have been busy or just outright neglecting it for the last couple of days, it might be time to finally clean that dirty toilet. You can easily do it yourself without feeling ashamed or getting grossed out. There is nothing wrong with bringing some cleanliness to your washroom. If you have not done it before, then follow these simple tips to help you clean a dirty toilet and have your bathroom looking and smelling fresh again.
Things Required:
– Rubber gloves
– Ajax, Comet or any other abrasive cleaner
– Disinfectant spray
– Green scrubby
– Rag or cloth or paper
– Towels
– Pumice stone

First, you need to flush the toilet and then put on your rubber gloves. You can then take Ajax, Comet or any other abrasive cleaner and sprinkle it inside the toilet bowl.

Now take a disinfectant spray and apply it on each and every inch of toilet, including the outside part the bowl, the lid and seat but also around the base.

Allow the abrasive cleaner and disinfectant spray to set for a while, before you start cleaning inside of the toilet bowl.

With your gloves still on, take the green scrubby and dip it into the water, in a bid to make it wet. Start scrubbing that toilet bowl, down and around the rim. If needed, apply some more Ajax or Comet to wet the green scrubby. Here, if you feel that some of the spots are not going away, then you can consider using pumice stone and hopefully, the stains will be completely removed.

Flush to see again if you have missed any spots. Still, if there are spots that you missed, then a little more abrasive cleaner should take care of the rest.

When the inside looks good, you can start cleaning the outside part. With your gloves on, get a rag, cloth or heavy duty paper towel. Dip it in hot water and start wiping down to clean the disinfectant off the toilet. Start with the tank, work your way down and do it at least 2 to 3 times in order to clean the whole outside of the toilet. If you are using paper towels that are not strong enough to rinse, then you can consider using an old rag.
