How to Assemble a Cheese Platter
Cheese platters are great to serve before special dinners during the holidays, birthday parties, get-togethers or baby showers. Keep in mind that a cheese platter should not only taste great but look appealing. Putting together a nice cheese platter is relatively easy and can be done quickly. Be sure to mix a variety of different cheeses with various colours, textures and flavours to make your cheese platter extra special.
Things Required:
– Platter or wooden board
– Aged Cheese (Cheddar and Gouda)
– Soft Cheese (Constant Bliss or Camembert)
– Firm Cheese (Parmigiano-Reggiano or Mimolette)
– Blue Cheese (Gorgonzola Dolce or Stilton)
– Bread
– Crackers
– Pepperoni or Salami

Get a variety of cheese
Go to your local grocery store or deli and ask for ready to serve cheese. Then buy at least one of the four types of aged, soft, firm and blue. Cheddar and Gouda are aged cheese whereas soft cheeses include Constant Bliss or Camembert. In order to get a firm cheese, you can buy Parmigiano-Reggiano or Mimolette and for blue you can get Gorgonzola Dolce or Stilton. -

Serving
You need to get enough cheese to accommodate all of your guests. You are required to get at least 3 to 4 oz per every adult invited to your party. In case you are having a party for eight people, you can get 3 lbs. -

Cut cheese
You need to cut the cheese in slices which can easily be picked up by your guests. Make sure the slices or pieces are big enough so that they can be easily handled by your guests. -

Serve on a platter or wooden board
Get a platter, a wooden board or a serving dish and arrange the cut cheeses on it. Place the platter on the dining table and serve. -

Add bread and meat on the platter
You can place bread in the middle of the platter along with some pepperoni or salami. If you feel that bread might get too heavy then use crackers instead. Using these ingredients, your guests can easily make their own unique combinations. -

Remove cheese platter from the fridge early
You need to remove the cheese platter from your refrigerator almost 60 minutes before your guests arrive. You do not want to serve the cheese platter too cold as this will dull the flavour.
