How to Give a Reiki Massage

Reiki was developed by Mikao Usui, who was a Japanese Buddhist. This spiritual practice was used to cure people who had some problems or diseases in their body. People who performed Reiki believed that they could heal others by transferring energy through their palms.

Although this activity is not performed in its original form by many people anymore, it has become popular as a form of massage. Even if you are not a specialist, you can learn the Reiki massage quite easily and give it to your partner or any other person who requests it. Moreover, you can open a massage centre and earn money through this wonderful technique.

Things Required:

Instructions

  • 1

    Create the proper environment

In order to give a good Reiki massage, you have to create a peaceful environment, which imparts a soothing feeling to the other person. In order to do that, you can dim the lights in the massage room and burn candles around the bed. Moreover, you can play some soft music if the person getting the treatment requests it.

  • 2

    Learn Reiki hand positions

Although you can give this massage using normal methods, it is ideal to learn the Reiki hand positions from a professional. This way, you will be able to know how to gather the energy and transfer it to another body through your palms.

  • 3

Ask the other person to lie down

Request the other person to lie down on the bed on his/her stomach, so that you can start the massage.

  • 4

Cover the other person’s lower body

Use warm towels to cover the lower part of the other person’s body. If you don’t have them available, you can use any other alternative.

  • 5

    Pour oil on your palms

Pour some oil onto your palms and transfer some Reiki energy into the oil through your hands. Once you feel that the oil is a bit warm, you can start the massage.

  • 6

    Begin massage

Using soft hands, start massaging the neck of the other person. Slowly move to the shoulders and then the lower back.

  • 7

    Start stroking the muscles

Once you have done the massage gently, apply more oil to your palms and make the movements quicker.

  • 8

    Finish with gentle strokes

When you are about to finish, make the movements of your hand gentle again and move to the neck muscles, where you started the massage from. Finish at this spot.
