Prep time: 5 min
Total time: 5 min
Yields: 1 serving
Utensils: 1 and 2 fl oz (25 ml and 50 ml) measuring cups, cutting board, sharp knife, juice squeezer, highball or tall glass, stirrer

Ingredients:
– Tequila: 2 fl oz (60 ml)
– Orange juice: 5.5 fl oz (175 ml) or juice of 2 fresh oranges
– Grenadine: 1/8 tsp
– Ice cubes: 3
– Orange slice: for garnishing
– Fresh cherry: for garnishing

Instructions

  • 1

Take a highball glass and place a few ice cubes in it.

  • 2

Pour 60 ml of tequila (2 fl oz) onto the ice.

  • 3

Next pour 175 ml (5.5 fl oz) of orange juice into the glass. You can use both canned and fresh orange juice. While using fresh juice, squeeze juice of two fresh oranges.

  • 4

Stir the mixture well and then add a dash of grenadine. When adding it, tilt the glass a bit and pour grenadine down from the side of the glass. Quickly flip the bottle vertically, making sure it goes to the bottom of the glass first and then rise slowly to mix with the lemon juice and tequila. Do not stir.

  • 5

Cut a slice from a whole orange with a sharp knife. Cut the orange slice into two halves, making a wedge in one half and set it on the rim of your glass.

  • 6

Make a small indent on the bottom of the cherry and set it as well on the side of the glass, next to orange wedge.

  • 7

Your Tequila sunrise is ready; serve it chilled.
