Prep time: 5 min
Cook time: 1 hour 15 min
Total time: 1 hour 20 min
Yield: 8 persons
Utensils : Mixing bowl, spoon, 9 by 9 inch baking pan

Ingredients:
Butter: ½ cup melted
Eggs: 2 large, beaten
Dry corn bread mix: 1 (8.5 ounce) package
Whole kernel corn: 1 (15 ounce) can, drained
Creamed corn: 1 (14.75 ounce) can
Sour cream: 1 cup

Instructions

  • 1

Pre-heat the oven at a temperature of 350 F. This will ensure that it gets warm while you prepare the baking mixture for the casserole.

  • 2

Lightly grease a 9 by 9 inch baking pan. The layer of grease helps in making sure that the casserole does not stick to the bottom of the pan once it is baked, and ensures that it comes out easily. The greasing part is a standard practice for most baking recipes.

  • 3

Take a mixing bowl large enough to hold the ingredients. Open up the can of the whole kernel corn. Drain out the liquid, and pour the corn into the mixing bowl. Add to it the butter, eggs, corn bread mix, creamed corn and sour cream. Now use a large spoon to combine these ingredients together thoroughly. Make sure that they are well mixed, so that the casserole has an even taste and consistency. When the mixture is well mixed, spoon it out into the baking dish prepared earlier.

Place the baking dish in the preheated oven. Bake for 45 minutes and check for the progress. If the crust has turned golden brown, the casserole is ready. If it is of a lighter shade, give it another ten-fifteen minutes to bake well.

Take out the casserole and place it on an attractive serving platter. The casserole can be served right away while still warm. It can also be cooled down before serving at room temperature, or chilled in the refrigerator.
