How to Make a Rag Wreath with a Hanger
Rag wreaths are hung at the main door for decoration purposes. You can either buy an already made rag wreath at a craft store or you can consider making one at home. The already simple process of making a rag wreath can be made even simpler if a metal hanger is used.
Things Required:
– Fabric scraps in a variety of colours
– Metal hanger
– Duct tape
– Wire cutters
– Scissors
Instructions
-
1
Pick out pieces of fabric from your fabric stash. Be sure to use fabric scraps of different colours and designs to make the rag wreath look more attractive to the eye. However, this is not necessary and you can also use fabric scraps in only a couple of different colours if desired.
-
2
Use a pair of scissors to resize the fabric scraps. The ideal length and width of fabric scraps for this project is 12 inches and 1 inch respectively. However, there is no need to spend too much time cutting the scraps because the dimensions of fabric scraps do not matter too much when making a rag wreath.

3
Take a metal hanger and snip off its hook with a pair of wire cutters. Be careful not to get injured while cutting the metal hanger.
-
4
Straighten out the hanger and then bend the wire into the shape of a circle. Attach the wire ends to each other with a piece of duct tape. The hanger wire will be the skeleton of the rag wreath you plan on making.

5
Take a fabric scrap and place it over the wire form. Make sure that the length of fabric is equal on both sides of the wire. Use a piece of duct tape to secure that fabric in place. If you do not want to use duct tape, use a piece of thread instead. Continue in this manner until the entire length of the metal wire is covered in fabric scraps.

Finally, hang the homemade rag wreath at the main entrance of your house.
