How to Make a Red Snapper Shot

The red snapper shot is a drink with the potency to keep the night alive for long. A combination of three exciting ingredients, this drink becomes an instant hit as soon as it is served. It gets its name from its snappy and appealing red color. The shot combines Canadian whiskey, amaretto liqueur and cranberry juice. It tastes the best when the ingredients used are of good quality, especially the whiskey. The cranberry juice used in the drink should be pure and not a mixed with another fruit. The drink is prepared readily as long as the ingredients are available.

Amaretto liqueur: 1 (1.5 fluid ounce) jigger
Cranberry juice: 4 fluid ounces
Crushed ice: As required

Instructions

  • 1

Grab a clean cocktail glass. This can be a shot glass or an old fashioned one. A good glass will enhance your presentation. Ice is also important for best results, and you can use both crushed and cubed. Take out the ice box from your freezer and refill it after taking the ice you need.

If you want to use crushed ice, place the cubes in a plastic bag. Hit the bag a few times with something hard to crush the ice. Crushed ice is generally better for cooling drinks quickly, compared to ice cubes.

Place the glass on the counter along with the ingredients. Pour in the whiskey in the above mentioned quantity. The royal crown Canadian whiskey is normally used for this particular drink. This is followed by the amaretto. The amaretto helps in mellowing the sharpness of the whiskey and the cranberry juice. The cranberry juice follows in the end to fill up the rest of the glass. Use the stirrer to mix together the three ingredients well. Make sure that the cranberry juice used is a pure cranberry one. Many people often try using cranberry juice mixes which include other fruit flavors and fail to get the optimum taste from the drink.
