How to Make Christmas Wrapping Paper

During the Christmas season, giving presents to friends and family can take a lot of time and money. This is also the case when it comes to Christmas wrapping paper. Having to buy various different styles and colours to wrap all of the presents can be rather daunting. A great way to save a little money and add some creativity to your gifts this year is to make your own Christmas wrapping paper. You can even get your kids involved as it is a fun activity they are sure to enjoy. Using some creativity and items that you already have at home, you can easily make elegant Christmas wrapping paper.

Things Required:

– Coloured Construction Paper
– Markers
– Stickers
– Butcher Paper Roll
– Sheets of Paper
– Scissors
– Pencils and Crayons
– Christmas Cookie Cutters
– Glitter Glue (optional)

Instructions

    Lay out paper

    The first thing that you will want to do is lay out the sheets of paper on a large flat surface like the dining table or the kitchen floor. You can also roll out large sections of butcher paper roll for each of your kids to work with. Use the scissors to measure out large pieces of paper. Keep in mind the various sizes of your gifts that need to be wrapped and try to make your Christmas wrapping paper accordingly.

    Place supplies in the middle

    Now you can take all of the crayons, pens, markers and cookie cutters and place them so that they are easy to reach for everyone making their own Christmas wrapping paper. Make patterns using the cookie cutters and construction paper.

    Make designs

    Using the stickers and markers you can easily make various designs and patterns on the paper. Allow your kids to make whatever they want. You can also attach different pieces of coloured construction paper using glitter glue for a nice Christmas feel. It is a good idea that you show your kids how to write different Christmas messages like “Merry Christmas” or “Seasons Greetings” on the wrapping paper. These phrases can be done using the crayons as well.

    Let it dry

    Depending on the type of design and patterns used, it is a good idea to allow your Christmas wrapping paper to dry for at least the whole day.
