Instructions

  • 1

    Heat the oil

The first step towards making a Swiss steak in a crock pot is to grab a skillet and pour a couple of tablespoons of cooking oil in it before you put it on heat. You are now required to nicely coat the stake with flour before placing it in the skillet. Continue to fry it until it gets brown. You may use your hands or a spoon to coat the flour on the steak.

Remove the steak from the skillet

Once you have made sure that the steak has turned brown, you may remove it from the skillet before draining it.

  • 3

Place the steak in the crock pot

At the bottom of the crock pot, you can put carrots, onions and potatoes. On top of the vegetables, you should place the steak before sprinkling salt and pepper on it as per your own taste. The tomato sauce and diced tomatoes also needs to be poured over the meat at this stage.

    Cover and cook

You can now cover the crock pot and allow the steak to be cooked on slow heat for approximately 10 hours. If you want to save some time, you may cook the steak on high heat for six hours; however, the former procedure is recommended by most of the cooking experts.
