How to Prepare Eggs for Dying
Dying eggs is a fun activity to do with your kids especially during the Easter period. However, it will get messy if you do not prepare the eggs before coloring. In order to avoid mess created from cracked eggs, you need to boil the eggs to solid firmness. Follow some simple guidelines and useful instructions in order to achieve your goal.
Things Required:
– Eggs
– Water
– Quart-sized saucepan
– Stove
Instructions
-
1
Place eggs on the bottom of the saucepan
Get a quart-sized saucepan and place it on the stove. Then place all the eggs at the bottom of the saucepan. Do not stack them on top of each other or you might break them. -
2
Fill the pan with cold water
Next fill the pan with cold water. Make sure the water level is just above the level of eggs. It should cover them slightly or you can simply fill water an inch above the eggs. -
3
Cover the saucepan with lid
Now cover the saucepan with lid and heat with high settings. Wait for the water to boil and continue heating the saucepan until you see steam blowing out from the side. Turn the stove off after nearly seven minutes. At this point, there will be a lot of steam evaporating out of the water surface. -
4
Steam the eggs
Leave the saucepan with lid on over the stove, flame off. The steam will further cook the eggs, making the egg white and yolk solid. Keep it on the stove for nearly 90 seconds. Now rinse the eggs in cold water, so that the heating process inside the egg stops. -
5
Refrigerate the eggs
Place the eggs in a bowl and put it in the fridge in order to cool it overnight. -
6
Dye the eggs
Take the eggs out the next day and you can now dye the eggs.
