    Formatting

You need to make sure that your resume provides readers with all the necessary information and a neat easy to read, error free layout. HR managers may have hundreds of resumes to look through, so if they have to struggle to read through your details they may not spend much time on it.

Moreover, a well-written resume will also reflect well on you and make a statement before you’re interviewed.

A standard resume should at least contain the elements listed below:

    Contact Information
    Summary of Qualifications
    Career Objective
    Work Experience
    Education
    Additional Skills (optional)
    Hobbies and Interests (optional)

    Work Experience

Potential employers are always looking for candidates who have prior work experience, particularly in relevant fields. If you are experienced in banking and finance then list the jobs you’ve held with detailed job descriptions along with any major achievements.

    Education

    Interests and Hobbies

A lot of people feel this section is not so important and don’t really pay much attention to it. Sure, your education and work experience sections will be more important to potential employers but your interests and hobbies also have an important role.
