Germy Things in Your Kitchen You May Not Think About
Refrigerator Handles
Believe it or not, your refrigerator handles hold quite a bit of germs. If you have kids, think about how many times they have come in from outside and ran to the refrigerator and grabbed something to drink. Think about how many times you have been cooking something and went to the refrigerator to grab something. So, this is one of the places that holds the most germs. Take time out to clean the refrigerator handles a couple of times a day if you can.
Dish Towels
We don’t think about our dish towels holding germs. Maybe that’s because most of us just use the dish towel to dry our hands, but it does hold germs and you should use a new one each day. Letting a dish towel sit around and using it for a few days is not a good idea. The dish towel will become wet when we dry our hands off and that will cause it to collect bacteria as it sits around. If you use it to wipe a surface off, that too will collect bacteria on the dish towel.
Sponges
Most people know about the sponges in the kitchen. If you are one of those who don’t, then you should definitely continue reading. The sponge is one of the main things in the kitchen that collects the most germs. It is a good idea to get a new sponge every few days. Even washing the sponge out is not a not a good idea after a few days. The last thing you want is to wash your dishes with a germy sponge!
