My LED Showerhead

I recently moved into a new place and my husband and I wanted a better showerhead. He went to Home Depot and checked out their selection. He was looking for a showerhead that comes off the wall so we could bathe our two year son easier. He came home with this contraption that I thought was kind of silly but I have come to like it and it’s beneficial for the children too.

He install the showerhead and the children loved it. They were excited about the showerhead because it has LED lights that change with the water temperature. The showerhead is pre-programmed to know when the water temperature is too hot or too cold. When I first turn on the water for the shower, the LED light is blue, indicating that the water is cold. When the water is at warm, the LED light turns green. When the water is in between hot and cold, the LED light flickers between green and red. When the water temperature is hot, it turns red.

My eight year old is used to feeling the water and adjusting the temperature but she likes showering with the fun lights. My four year old will only get in the shower when the LED light flickers between the green and red. My two year old gets in the shower regardless of the color because he simply wants to play in the water. Regardless of their color preferences, the children know that red means hot, green means warm and blue means cold. They know when the temperature is just right for their gentle skin.

My husband purchased two of the LED showerheads and when he installed the one for our master bathroom, I disliked it. I know not to get in the shower until the water has warmed up and where to put the shower dial so it’s not too hot. I thought it was a bit much for the adults in the house. I can still live without the LED showerhead but their are some days that the children shower in my bathroom so it stays.

The LED light helps the children to not burn themselves even if they can touch the water to differentiate hot from cold. The light prevents them from getting burned in the first place or shocking their bodies with super cold water. The LED showerhead works for my family and it does make getting each child into the shower a little easier.
