Slices of fresh bread makes fantastic spoon rests, and it will not go to waste. Use slices of soft bread to support spoons and other cooking utensils. They will work like sponges to absorb liquid and other substances. When finished, break up the pieces of bread and toss them into the yard. Birds and other animals will enjoy the treat.
Notch Wooden Spoon Handles to Rest on the Edges of Pans
Built in spoon rests are some of the very best since they do not take up counter space. Buy wooden cooking utensils with thick handles, and notch the handles to create a space that will fit on the edges of pans. A narrow mill file will do the job.
