Options for Storing DVD Movies
Opt for Sturdy Freestanding Shelving
When seeking options for storing DVD movies, do not buy ready to assemble shelving especially for holding DVDs. They shelves are not sturdy enough to hold rows of DVD movies, even if the product is marketed for storing media. Opt for sturdy freestanding shelving instead. Use solid wood for storing DVDs instead of particle board, and make certain that it offers plenty of support from below. It is best to buy a high quality unit for storing DVD movies. Otherwise you will end up going through two or three shelf units when you could have used something of higher quality from the very start.
Use Baskets to Sort and Store DVD Movies
Baskets come in all sizes, and they can be used to store and organize DVD movies. I have four large baskets that are just the right size for storing DVDs. I separated the DVDs according to genre, and they are very easy to find. The baskets look far better than sagging shelves filled with DVD movies. Best of all, my daughter can easily reach her favorites. Baskets are a fantastic solution for storing DVD movies when you do not want the cases and titles to become part of the decorating scheme.
Use a Freestanding Pantry for Storing DVD Movies
My movie collection is growing beyond what my baskets can hold. I am in the process of moving, and I am designating a freestanding pantry to hold some of my DVD movies. Since the shelves are deep I invested in a tiered rack to stack them on. The titles will be easy to find, and I will make the best use of the available storage space while continuing to expand my collection.
