10 Reasons Why You Should NOT Buy the Scrubbing Bubbles Automatic Shower Cleaner

This product is designed to clean your shower using an electronic spray device that distributes an evaporative cleaner throughout your shower. While no one enjoys scrubbing down the bathroom walls, it is a price we have to pay for cleanliness. For now, there’s no product that can do it any better.

1. First of all, the Automatic Shower Cleaner hangs from the shower head which can take up valuable space otherwise used for shower caddies and more useful storage. I had to take down my hanging shower rack and clutter the corners of the tub with my soap, shampoo, and shaving razors. Save some space. Don’t buy it.

2. The 360 degree coverage by the rotating sprayer is limited, not reaching much higher than chest level and missing the area directly below. While the rotation does reach all four “walls,” large areas remain untouched. I’ve found that even using the spray-it-yourself ‘mist away’ cleaner reaches more area than this product.

3. The cleaning fluid bottles last around two weeks (depending upon how clean you like it) which adds up to an extra $6-$8 per month on refills. While paying extra money for technologies of convenience is rampant, doing so monthly for a flawed concept can be quite inconvenient. The spray dispersion is insufficient, inefficient, and in the end, expensive.

4. The cleaning fluid goes fast due to much of the spray being wasted on the back wall, the wall the device hangs on. The same amount gets sprayed on the back wall that gets sprayed on the rest of the shower. While that one surface may be gleaming, the other walls are a different shade of “clean.”

5. The sprayer also fails to cover surfaces uniformly, its streams only reaching streaky areas whereas a finer mist would produce more even coverage. The spray is designed to reach surfaces up to 8 feet away, but the power it needs to do so sacrifices much of its ability to consistently cover closer areas.

6. Because it is battery operated, the device requires another periodic expense for 4 AA batteries. While this is only necessary every 3 months or so, it’s still another expense in addition to the refills. When are you finished paying for this product? Never.

7. There seems to be only one scent available for the cleaning fluid which tends to overpower the room after spraying. While this standard scent is pleasant, it can clash with the various potpourris and air fresheners people have in their bathrooms. More scents may be on the way, but for now you are limited to this one.

8. The 10 second beeping that counts down to activation is bothersome and can rush groggy bathers into scrambling over slippery tubs. The warning beep and spraying buzz are annoying, especially early in the morning, and they honestly hurry you out of the shower. Watch your toes. Don’t want to stub them during your escape.

9. The design concept of the cleaner feels gimmicky, a novelty catering to the lazy and easily entertained. Convenient? Yes. But efficient? Worthwhile? Quality? Not so much. After watching how the device works a couple times, the novelty wears off and you start judging how clean your shower really is. Then you have to make an extra trip to the store just for more fluid bottles. This product is simply not worth it.

10. The Automatic Shower Cleaner simply cannot perform up to the standards of what it is attempting to replace. Good old fashioned wall scrubbing. So bust out those gloves, take half an hour, and save yourself some m
