Pokemon Adventures: Chapter 2 – Part 1
“Charmander and Rattata!” Mia said, aloud. “I promise I’m going to be a great trainer!” The girl said.
Several hours later the girl was still making her way through the forest. The sun was just about to set over the horizon. “I better set up camp,” the girl thought. When Mia found a clearing in the forest, she slung off her pack and removed her sleeping bag and something to build a fire with.
“I know,” The girl thought, grabbing her pokeballs. “Come on out guys!” She said, summoning her Charmander and Rattata. The two Pokemon appeared. “Why don’t you guys play, or something?” She said, as she started to build a fire.
The two Pokemon didn’t play. Instead they started to explore the clearing. When the fire was built and Mia had pulled out some food for herself and her Pokemon, the two little creatures returned to eat. “Enjoy,” the girl said.
Mia watched as the two Pokemon quickly devoured their meals. When they were finished, the Charmander curled up in a tight ball near the fire and fell asleep. The Rattata on the other hand, wondered over to the sleeping bag, and fell asleep on top of it.
“HeyâÂ?¦ I need to sleep there too you know,” Mia began, giggling. A rustling sound caught Mia’s attention. “WhoaâÂ?¦” The girl began, getting to her feet. At first the girl was expecting a Pokemon to appear, instead Lucy stumbled out of the woods.
“Hi Mia!” Lucy said, smiling brightly and placing her hands on her hips. The girl’s Pikachu wondered out of the forest as well, and was now standing by the girl’s feet. “I saw a light out here so I went to check it out, I’ll leave you aloneâÂ?¦” The girl said, about to leave.
“You don’t have to,” Mia said, holding out her hand to stop the girl. “Are you hungry? Want something to eat?”
“UhâÂ?¦ I don’t want to be a bother, and I don’t want to take your food,” Lucy said.
“Don’t be silly. I have plenty!” Mia said, holding out a box filled with sandwiches. “My mom also gave me some money, so I’m going to buy some supplies once I reach Pewter City,” the girl said.
Lucy looked hungrily at the sandwiches. “If you’re sureâÂ?¦” She said, grabbing once and sinking her teeth into it. “Pretty good,” she said.
“My own special recipe,” Mia giggled. “Ham and cheese.” Reaching into her bag the girl removed some Pokemon food and was about to hand it over to the Pikachu, but stopped herself from feeding it. “Is it ok, if IâÂ?¦?” The girl began, holding up the food so Lucy could see it.
“Oh that’s ok,” Lucy said, reaching into her outfit and removing a tiny box. “I make sure my little guy has plenty to eat,” she said, opening the lid on the box and sitting it down so her Pikachu could take some food out.
“He’s really well behaved,” Mia said.
“Pikachu and I have been traveling together for a long time,” Lucy said, patting the yellow creature on the head. “He’s really my best friend.”
“A long time?” Mia said, furrowing her eyebrows. “How old are you, if you don’t mind me asking.”
“I don’t,” Lucy said, shaking her head. “I’m actually twelve. In a few months I’ll be thirteen,” the girl answered.
“WowâÂ?¦ No wonder he’s so good,” Mia said, taking a deep breath.
Lucy leaned back in her seat, her eyes turned to the girls Charmander and Rattata. “Hey you caught one!” The girl said, smiling brightly. “He looks pretty strong too.”
“He was,” Mia said, turning slightly so she could see the tiny Pokemon. The Rattata had stretched itself out on the girl’s sleeping bag and was now lying on its side. “He put up a good fight.”
“I knew you could do it,” Lucy said, nodding.
“You seem to know a lot about Pokemon,” Mia said, turning her attention back to Lucy. “Have you been training with them long?”
Lucy turned her head away from the girl. “YouâÂ?¦ could say that,” she said.
Mia could tell something was wrong, but decided not to push the issue. “Oh, anywaysâÂ?¦” The girl began. “I don’t have another sleeping back, but you can sleep here tonight if you want.”
“Are you sure?” Lucy said, turning to Mia. “You’re pretty trusting, you know that?”
“What do you mean?” Mia asked.
Lucy giggled. “Nothing, don’t worry about it!” She said, shaking her head. “I’ll take you up on your offer,” and with that the girl reached behind her back and removed a small, metallic tube. Opening one side of the tube, the girl pulled out a thin cloth. “This is a sleeping bag,” she said, unfurling the cloth. Climbing inside the girl closed her eyes, moments later she was fast asleep.
“She must have been tired,” Mia said. Suddenly the girl yawned and stretched her hands high overhead. “I’m tired tooâÂ?¦” Getting to her feet, the girl turned. She was now towering over her Rattata. “Now about youâÂ?¦” She muttered.
