Pokemon Adventures: Chapter 1 – Part 4

Mia’s plans had already been changed. The girl saw herself leaving Pallet Town. Catching as many Pokemon she could in the surrounding forest, and eventually making her way to Pewter City.

Charmander had been recalled to his pokeball and now Mia was making her way down a long path, that did lead further and further into the forest. Every once in a while the girl would see a Rattata scurry out of the forest, or a Pidgey fly into the middle of the trail. She even spotted a male and female Nidoran, eating some berries together, but the girl didn’t fight them.

“ManâÂ?¦ This stinksâÂ?¦” Mia breathed, her shoulders sagged.

“What stinks?” Came a voice.

Mia turned and spotted another girl sitting on a boulder. The girl had short red hair, and emerald green eyes. The girl was garbed in a beige shirt, matching jacket, blue jeans and black boots strapped tightly to her feet.

“Who are you?” Mia asked.

“Sorry, didn’t mean to scare you,” The girl said, getting to her feet. “My name is Lucy, what’s your name?”

“Lucy, huh?” Mia said, the girl noticed Lucy was several inches shorter than she was. “My name is Mia.”

“Mia, huh?” Lucy smirked. “Let me guessâÂ?¦ You’re a brand new Pokemon trainer, right?” The girl asked.

Mia nodded. “How did you know?”

“I saw some kids running around her earlier. They were talking about catching all the Pokemon in the forest,” the girl giggled. “You must have turned ten recently, right?” The girl asked.

“Two weeks ago,” Mia answered.

“That’s nice,” Lucy said, leaping from the boulder and walking over to the girl.

Mia spotted a Pokemon hanging from the girl’s belt. “I’m sorry, but I’m not looking for a Pokemon battle.”

“Oh, me either,” Lucy said, taking the pokeball off her belt and summoning her Pokemon. A tiny, yellow Pikachu stared up at the two girls. “Let me guessâÂ?¦ You’re nervous about battling Pokemon, right?” The girl asked.

Mia didn’t answer. Instead she blushed.

“I thought so,” Lucy said. “You’re worried about letting your Pokemon get hurt, right?”

“Yeah,” Mia said, nodding.

“Well that’s what potions are for, besides, Pokemon love battling each other!” Just as Lucy finished talking, a Spearow landed a few yards away. “Pikachu go!” The girl ordered.

Mia watched as the Pikachu rushed at the Spearow as fast as it could. The Spearow had been pecking the ground, but when it heard Lucy’s command, it lifted its head and turned towards the approaching Pikachu.

Spearow quickly flew into the air and dived at Pikachu. It cawed as it flew. “Dodge it!” Lucy ordered.

Pikachu continued to run forwards, just as the Spearow was about to smash into it, the Pikachu quickly jumped to the right, missing being struck by mere inches. “Lightning!” Lucy ordered next.

Pikachu roared as a bolt of electricity exploded from it’s body and struck the Spearow. With a loud caw, the Pokemon hit the ground and skidded to a halt.

“Catch it,” Lucy said, turning her attention to Mia.

At first Mia was tempted, but realized she hadn’t actually been the one to catch the Pokemon. “I can’tâÂ?¦” The girl said, shaking her head. “I’ll catch my own though.”

Lucy smiled and nodded. “Alright,” she said, reaching into her outfit the girl removed a potion. “I’ll fix him up, ok?”
