Poetry: The Gift of Words

Poetry, unique works of art adorning your walls, crafted by your own fair hands. Poetry, the gift of words, shared with our loved ones, a gift for any occasion. Poetry expresses our innermost emotions, putting our feelings into words. Happiness, gratitude, friendship and love the topics of poetry are endless. Inspirational words of wisdom to brighten your day.

Imagine giving or receiving a beautifully written and framed poem as a gift. Choose thought provoking, serious, happy poetry, amusing rhymes or jokey limericks for your sentimental gift.

Poetry, your own personal, or quotes from such poets as Dylan Thomas, Edgar Allan Poe, Angelou Maya, Keats, Shelley or Wordsworth would look stunning.

Making your poetry gift requires,

Computer skills – I worked with Microsoft Office Word 2007.

Photo Frame or Clip Frame – Purchase frames from Target, Home Goods, Dollar Tree or department stores. Frames made from wood, metal, plastic and glass with many colors and finishes suitable for everyone’s taste.

A poem – Select your poem, either your own, or written by a famous poet.

Greetings cards often have sentimental verses you could use.

Nursery rhymes would work well in a children’s room.

Once you have your poem log into Microsoft Office Word and create a new document.

Select the font style, word size, print color and page layout.

Click on Insert and select an image to enhance your poem. Chose clip art if wished.

Print your poetry on card or paper.

Place in frame.

Remember printer paper size is 8.5″ by 11″ as a guide for photo frames.

Below is a sample of my poem Autumn Jewels

Autumn Jewels

The wet autumn leaves

Reflect the autumn sun

Yellow like amber clear and bright

Red as a ruby or darker garnet

Shades of green are emeralds light

Raindrops sparkle

Like diamonds and pearls.

Autumns treasures in a

Poor man’s world
