The Best Electronic Buys for Cyber Monday – Ready, Set, Shop!
Online retailers are tight-lipped this year about what deals they might be offering for Cyber Monday, but here are the top four things you can always look for to make the tech savvy teenager in your household happy:
1. Gaming consoles.
With the PS4 already sold out in many countries and the Xbox One still to launch this November, you can bet that stores will be lucky to still have any on the shelves. Retailers will be more than happy to offer great deals on the older consoles though, and for those wanting to replace their old system or upgrade their hard drive space, this is the perfect day to do it. The Xbox 360 and PS3 will definitely be options, and it’s likely Nintendo fans may get a great deal on a 3DS or possibly a Wi-U.
2. Tablets and eReaders.
Like game consoles, if you don’t mind getting an older model instead of the latest thing released, you’ll find deals on Android tablets, Kindles, and possibly some older versions of Barnes and Noble’s Nook reader. Just don’t hold your breath hoping for an iPad to go on sale. Apple is notoriously Scrooge-like when it comes to marking down anything for the Thanksgiving shopping sprees.
3. Smartphones.
I wouldn’t expect any great discounts on Apple’s iPhone, but wireless dealers are offering some decent buys on smartphones. Verizon is offering the HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4 for only $99.99, and Sprint is offering a free LG G2 phone to any wireless customers who switch to Sprint with a two year contract. If you’ve been planning to upgrade, renew, or switch carriers, Cyber Monday might just be the perfect time to do it.
4. Video games.
There are plenty to choose from this season, and some online retailers like Amazon and Gamestop tend to offer free shipping and deals on special edition packs. Games such as Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, and Call of Duty: Ghosts are some of the biggest releases to come out recently. Whether you find a great deal or not on these titles, buy them before they vanish, because with the following these games have, vanish they will.
Above all, be sure to make a game plan of what you’re looking for ahead of time – with Cyber Monday this year, blink and you’ll miss out.
