Strawberry Spinach Salad Recipe

Strawberry Spinach Salad Recipe is the perfect and refreshing epitome of spring. It is an ideal blend of fresh strawberries and tart dressing. You can serve it as a light side dish, main dish or and an appetizer. Make sure to use the freshest ingredients available in order to attain the original taste. Strawberry Spinach Salad is inexpensive dish and very simple to make as you can prepare it within fifteen minutes.

Ingredients:

– 1 lb. baby spinach leaves – washed
– 1/2 cup sliced green onions
– 1/3 cup slivered almonds – slightly toasted and lightly chopped
– 1 cup sliced strawberries (or more)
– 2 to 3 chopped fresh dill (or more)

Dressing’s Ingredients:

– 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
– 1/4 cup sugar or Splenda
– 1 teaspoon finely minced fresh garlic
– 1/4 teaspoon salt – sea salt is preferred
– 1/4 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
– 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard powder
– 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
– 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil

Instructions

    Prepare the dressing

    First of all make the dressing of the Strawberry Spinach Salad and set it aside to marinate. Beat together the red wine vinegar, finely minced fresh garlic, sugar, salt, fresh ground black pepper, onion powder, and dry mustard powder in a medium bowl until smooth. Now, stir in the extra virgin olive oil and set the bowl aside in order to let the dressing flavors marinate until you mix the other ingredients.

    Prepare the dill

    Now, place the dill in a colander and wash them thoroughly. Drain them properly until dry. Place them on a cutting board and remove their stalks, woody parts. Now, chop the dill finely with a sharp knife and set them aside.

    Prepare the strawberries

    Rinse the fresh ripe strawberries and drain them properly. Remove their stems and cut them into fine medium slices and set aside.

    Wash the spinach leaves

    Wash the baby spinach leaves and drain them thoroughly. Set the spinach leaves aside until dry well.

    Add the spinach leaves to a serving bowl

    Take a large serving bowl and place the spinach leaves in it.

    Add in the other ingredients

    Add the thinly sliced green onions, chopped or slivered almonds, and the recently chopped dill. Mix these ingredients with a large fork or spoon.

    Drizzle the dressing

    Drizzle the dressing all over the ingredients in the large bowl and toss to coat the ingredients.

    Arrange the salad on individual serving plates

    Take four medium serving plates and divide the salad among them.

    Finally, arrange the fresh strawberry slices over the four salads.
