Of Omelets, Benedict, and Hash

There’s nothing better for a Thanksgiving breakfast than an Omelet, Eggs Benedict, or Corn Beef Hash. You would be lucky to have any of these delectable dishes for Thanksgiving.

Omelet
My first omelet wasn’t successful. It was overcooked. Of course the next time around I added more ingredients, not just cheese. My ingredients include 2-3 eggs, butter, ham, shredded cheddar cheese, and black olives. Take a bowl, crack 2-3 eggs into it, and whisk the eggs yokes together. Turn the stove onto a medium temperature and in a flat pan include 1 tablespoon of butter. Pour the egg yoke into the pan and wait for the egg to cook a little bit. Add the ingredients of your choice. I would put in some shredded cheddar cheese, black olives, ham, and green peppers into my omelet. Once your ingredients are on the omelet, fold one side of the egg over with a spatula. When you’re ready, flip the omelet to the other side, so it can cook.

Eggs Benedict
I’ve never made this dish before, but it’s my favorite breakfast dish. The ingredients used are English muffins, poached eggs, hollandaise sauce, and Canadian bacon slices. On allrecipes.com these are the directions to follow: In a skillet fry both sides of Canadian bacon, then in a saucepan filled with water, break eggs and cook for 2-3 minutes “until whites are set but yolks are still soft. Remove eggs with a slotted spoon,” says allrecipes.com. Next, it’s time to make your hollandaise sauce. Take some butter in a cup and melt it in the microwave, then use a blender to add egg yokes and heavy cream, cayenne pepper and salt. Then add the butter. Blend the ingredients together and when the sauce is done, pour it over the English muffin and Canadian bacon.

Corn Beef Hash
I found Emeril Lagasse’s recipe for corn beef hash on the Food Network. Ingredients include butter, salt, onions, pepper, garlic, corn beef, and potatoes. He says to preheat your oven to 400 degrees, take a skillet, melt butter in medium heat, and add the seasonings. Also, he says to add the corn beef and garlic and add the potatoes after 2 minutes. Lastly, he says to take the skillet off the stove after 4 minutes, add all ingredients into the pan, put in the oven for 8 to 10 minutes, then serve.
