SportsKids Moms and Dads on Bravo

SportsKids Moms and Dads is a new reality show on the TV network Bravo. In the past they brought the reality show Showbiz Moms and Dads. But is this a harmful or harmless look into the life of kids who play sports? Are they losing their childhood to countless practices to become well known for their athletic ability?

So far the show has introduced 5 families ranging in basketball, cheerleading, figure skating, horse back riding and football. There’s even one more sports kids on the official bravo show’s website but if you’re on dial up it may take too long for it to load to check out.

At times the viewer may feel overwhelmed, even sorry for the child once they hear of the schedule they are put through. Some parents may be living their own dreams such as the football kid who’s only 8 years old through their child.

While it’s stressful to watch at times due to financial costs being a problem and seeing a child being called a failure, it’s also inspiring. To see such young child have such heart, such passion for something and they are constant wanting to make their parents proud.

But I do fear that as the shows are revealed each week at 10pm EST Wednesday, the pride in watching how hard working these kids are will result in feeling sorry for them.

Wondering how they will feel when they are of adult age when looking back at their childhood. Bravo to the network for an entertaining show. Perhaps years from now we will see SportKids Moms and Dads- The Aftermath.
