Orange Cos Salad Recipe

Orange Cos Salad is a refreshing and colorful summer dish, providing flavorful use of textures. The crispy cos lettuce and the sweet fresh orange slices are nicely tossed in the light and filling honey vinaigrette dressing.

Salad’s Ingredients:

– 1 large cos lettuce / Romaine Lettuce – torn into bite-size pieces
– 3 oranges – peeled and thinly sliced

Honey Vinaigrette Dressing’s Ingredients:

– 4 tablespoons red wine vinegar
– 3/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
– 1 tablespoon honey
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
– 4 spring onions – nicely sliced

Instructions

    Take a medium container with a tight-fitting lid and pour in the extra virgin olive oil. Top with onion slices, honey, salt and the freshly ground black pepper.

    Close the lid of the container properly and shake it vigorously in order to blend the ingredients inside.

    Pick a large serving or salad bowl and place the bite-size pieces of Romaine or Cos lettuce into it.

    Arrange the peeled and thinly sliced orange slices on the top of the lettuce.

    Unseal the container and drizzle the honey vinaigrette dressing all over the salad. Toss very lightly to mix and coat the ingredients.
