Cheap Tickets Make Minor League Baseball’s Dayton Dragons a Family Event

Playing about 70 home games each season, the Dragons call Fifth Third Field their lair and treat baseball fans and families to a treat…at a low price.

Ticket prices start at only $7 for lawn seats, and go up to $12.75 for Premium seats. Granted, you could potentially spend a fair amount if you buy lunch and souvenirs while at the field, but the Dragons have a way to save you a few bucks there as well. The Dragons have a family deal available for a few of their home games, and that gives a family of four tickets to the game, four McDonald’s extra value meals, and four Dragon’s Baseball hats for just under $40.

The atmosphere at the field is very family-oriented, and there’s plenty for kids to do. Behind the outfield lawn seats is an inflatable castle that kids can play in. Also, mascots Heater and Jem make the rounds through the crowd, and are usually available for pictures before and after games. Kids are chosen from the stands to participate in games between innings and also to dance on the dugouts with the Dragon mascots.

The high-energy atmosphere at the field is enhanced by the “Green Team”. A group of young men and women who run through the stands and around the baseline tossing out t-shirts and getting the crowd into the game. The PA announcers are fantastic as well. The Dragons have upbeat in-crowd announcers who work with the fans and the kids to choose guest announcers, and find people to put on the jumbotron.

A day at the Dayton ballpark takes on a whole new feel for families heading out to Fifth Third Field and joining the Dragons, because with the wholesome feeling, cheap ticket prices, and a good game of baseball, it’s really a perfect summer afternoon.
