Indiana Historic Radio Museum
Located in Ligonier Indiana, the Indiana Historic Radio Museum houses more than 400 classic antique radios and related items. There you will see crystal radio sets, ham radios, early transistor radios, collectible radios of the past, and much more. The museum is located in a brick building that served as a filling station in the 1920’s. Old-time music adds to the atmosphere of this interesting Indiana museum. Knowledgeable people are available to answer any questions visitors have regarding items on display. The museum also has a gift shop that sells reasonably priced unique items. Indiana Historic Radio Museum is located at the corner of Lincolnway and Union Street in Ligonier. Admission to the museum is free, but donations are greatly appreciated. Ligonier Historical Museum
While in Ligonier, take the time to explore the Ligonier Historical Museum. The museum is located on Main Street, which proudly boasts many beautiful historic homes. Ligonier Historical Museum was a Jewish Temple in the late 1800’s. At that time there were many Jewish residents in Ligonier. Now the museum is home to memorabilia that will take visitors back to the turn of the century and provide them with information on the rich heritage of Ligonier. Upper Dixie War Museum & Learning Center
The Upper Dixie War Museum and Learning Center is a unique mobile Civil War museum. It is operated by the 50th Virginia Infantry Company D. Army of Northern Virginia. Founders of this Noble County Indiana museum stress the significance of accuracy regarding historical information and the importance of education. Old Jail Museum
This historic Gothic style building once served as the Noble County jail. In the early days of the jail, the Noble County sheriff resided in a residence connected to the portion of the building that housed the prisoners. Visitors can now visit the jail to see a large collection of historic items provided by the Noble County Historical Society. The residential portion of the building is decorated and furnished much in the same way it was back in the heyday of the jail. Well-informed tour guides take visitors back in time to learn what life was like for the outlaws and offenders confined there. Graffiti scrawled on the impenetrable concrete walls is a haunting reminder of those once detained there. The Old Jail Museum is located on Jefferson Street (State Route 8). Luckey Hospital Museum
This very unique Noble County Indiana museum was formerly a small hospital, and is currently in use as an apartment building. A portion of the hospital was reserved for the historical museum. Named after Dr. James Luckey who provided medical care for area residents in the early 1900’s, the museum displays a large assemblage of medical supplies, clothing, books, and equipment from a bygone era. The displays are set up in an accurately recreated operating room, examination room, and doctor’s office. The museum is located at the corner of U.S. 33 and State Road 109 in Wolf Lake Indiana. Mid-America Windmill Museum
Dozens of fully restored windmills can be observed at this one-of-a-kind museum. The museum, located at 732 South Allen Chapel Road (1000 East) in Kendallville Indiana, provides valuable information on the history of various windmills. Guests can view the restoration workshop and learn more about historic windmills in the museum library. Tours, video presentations, photographs, and interactive displays are available for guests to the museum. There is a picnic shelter on the grounds and a museum gift shop.
