How to Make a Sword out of a Steel Pipe

Want to play samurai? Need a sword for a role in drama class or you simply want a sword for yourself so that you can brandish it once in a while? No. You do not really have to go to the armor store for a sword. You can make it yourself using stuff that is available right inside your own house. The essential thing you need is steel to make a sword. That steel could come from the spare pipes that have been lying around the garage since start of time. Utilize them and make your own sword using little creative skills. This could be a fun and interesting activity for a lazy weekend afternoon. It might not be as fine and glamorous as those in the antique shop or in the movies but it sure is deadly.

– Steel pipe
– Duct tape or yarn
– Scissor
– Stove
– Sand paper
– Permanent marker

    Acquire a steel pipe

    Look around and acquire an extra steel pipe to make a sword out of it.

    Decide about the handle of the sword

    Once you have the steel pipe in hand, decide that which pole of it you will be using as a handle of your sword. The best position for the handle purpose can be the location that is about seven inches from the bottom. Grab a permanent marker and mark around the pole.

    Wrap the handle of the sword

    It is the time to wrap the selected handle of the steel pipe. You can use a duct tape of your favorite color or yarn to make the handle. Wrap the chosen tape or yarn around the handle over and over. Use a sharp scissor to cut the yarn or tape at the end.

    Hammer down the tip of the steel pipe

    Note: Make sure to wear thick gloves and glasses while hammering the steel pipe as it is too hot and soften metal and can give you a severe burn.
