4. The Montgomery Event Center
500 Main Street
Oklahoma City, OK 73102
(405)236-2420

The Montgomery Event Center is part of a beautifully renovated building in the heart of downtown Oklahoma City. This unique space used to be a parking garage in what used to be the Montgomery Ward building, a registered landmark.

While the building was being renovated by the Gardner Tanenbaum Group, Brenda Stevens, the director, has been booking out the space. They have only been open for two weeks and already have thirty bookings.

The Room is spacious enough for up to 650 guests, but is able to be divided into three rooms. It is very basic in design so that the parties can provide their own theme without it clashing with the d©cor. It has lush furniture, beautiful columns, bridal rooms, and inset chandeliers which can be adjusted to the clients desire.

Unlike most venues, clients are not required to use their preferred caterer, Aunt Pitty Pats (405-942-4000), so the client has the option to go with many of the rich offerings in that central area. They are also offered the opportunity to use the limousine service, Celebrity Valet Corporation ((405) 688-2538), and The Cosmopolitan Spa & Salon (405-606-2766). If planning is not your forte then you might want to have their wonderful staff do all the planning for you.

Guests may utilize the valet parking for $5 before being greeting by the concierge upon entering this historic building of the 1920s with art deco theme.

The room rental rates were standard topping out at $2000 for an evening event, but this does not include the staff, food, etc. It does offer state of the art audio and visual equipment, including wireless internet.

The building lends itself to all types of meetings, but it seems that they have captured the wedding reception niche, and it works well for them.

I would highly recommend The Montgomery Event Center for anyone who needs a venue to have a meeting, party, or reception. The staff was very courteous and helpful, and proud to be apart of this renovation.
